HPW Update

(That looks really funny abbreviated like that, doesn't it? I've never done that before.) :)

I wanted to let all of you out there who still check on/visit/find my blog that I really appreciate you. I have been really wanting to do a post lately, but my river is still dry and I'm currently very busy with school. It blesses my heart when I log on and find that one of you have found my blog and subscribed, have commented on an old post, or to see that I have received X amount of views on a certain random day when it's been quite a while since the last post.
I just wanted to let you know that, no, I'm not gone, just in a confusing/frustrating place right now, and that I see when you view and receive your sweet comments,
and it really means a lot to me!
Thanks so much!!!!
I would love to hear how you are doing, or if you have any ideas for future posts!

Princess Warrior-type Post to Share

I just finished reading a very good blog post over on the Lies Young Women Believe blog that deals with us going to battle with courage throughout this new year :) It made me think of how I want to be as, yes, a Princess, a daughter of God, but also His warrior, and not cowering in terror with the new fears and hard situations that 2015 might bring! I spent most of 2014 not being a good soldier, and by God's grace, I'd like to do better this year.
Anyway, I'm sharing the link to this post in hopes that it will encourage your Princess Warrior heart as well :) Hope you enjoy it and are as inspired by it as I was.

Being Wearied with The Journey

"Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well." {John 4:6a}

So....
We {the ladies of our awesome little church!} had our Ladies Fall Fellowship/Bible study last week. It was such a blessing, and full of laughter, but when my pastor's wife began to bring the devotional, I was totally not paying attention.
"Wanna know why?"
Because after we'd turned to the Scripture from which God had led her to bring our study, God arrested my attention so completely, inspiration hit, and I was scribbling this from-God's-heart-to-mine encouragement in my journal before I lost it!
(Don't worry! What God gave me actually had a lot to do with our Bible study anyway :) And my pastor's wife forgave me ;-)
But here are those notes, from my heart to yours. Not sure if they are all doctrinaly sound lol but it was if a light-bulb clicked on and I was seeing this Scripture in a slightly different hue than normal!

"Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well." {John 4:6a}
(seriously. that small, simple sentence was all God needed to use to encourage me and inspire three pages of writing. Isn't He amazing??? <3 )

"It stuck me as my pastor's wife read this verse aloud that John would include that Jesus-- king of the Universe; wholly mighty in strength-- became weary.

Weary is a word I know well. Too well.
Maybe you as well are far to familiar with that word :(

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, I thought.
But...
Maybe not.
Maybe, God wanted us to know that it's okay to be tired.
He knows. He gets it. He KNOWS where we have been and where we are.

It was Jesus' journey that caused Him to become weary.
Could we, perhaps, use this as a parallel to our spiritual lives?
Jesus understands.
Could we also equate this with our daily walk in general??
Jesus gets it. He got tired.
So He sat down.
Maybe God put a subtle hint in here that in our life's journey, when we get tired that it's okay to sit down, to take a break...
as long as we don't intend to QUIT!!!
{{ouch!!}}
Jesus was planning only on taking a break. Not on STOPPING!
Also this break Jesus was taking?
It didn't stop Him from encouraging  another even when He was tired.
Maybe we can even encourage others better when we're taking a break. because at that point?? HE GOT IT! He "got it" well! He was taking a break at the time! So maybe we can encourage others better during or after that break because "we've been there too" and therefore are better equipped to encourage them.
Another thing. We know as believers that because He took this break, a woman's-- a TOWN's-- spiritual needs were met.
We know it was a scheduled divine appointment on His part ;-)
Maybe God slows us down-- has slowed YOU down-- allows struggles, sorrows, trouble, depression, discouragement, unfair/overwhelming circumstances because we can reach certainpeople during our hard spots, because of our trials, that we may never have been able to reach had everything continued to be hunky-dory, smooth-sailing.
We (YOU!!!) can meet the spiritual needs of others because we've had this struggle, because we're going through this problem

It's okay to be tired.
It's okay to take a break!
Just take that break intending to get back up after you are rested!!!
Take that break cognizant of the fact that others need breaks too!!!
Take that break knowing that because you're taking it, God may be able to use you in a way He never could have otherwise!!
Knowing that God can use that break to encourage someone else down the road.

You can encourage someone from a sitting position! ;-)

Intense Truths and Leaky Buckets

You may be thinking, “What kind of a post-title is that?!:) And you’d be justified—rest assured, we’re getting to that. :D

For those of you who do not know this, my family does not have practical Internet access from our house, and so the only times I am able to use the internet, is when I am at the library or another source of free WiFi :D The way I work around this is by printing as PDF files the things I wish to read (blogposts, emails to respond to, etc…) for later to maximize my online time. This was the case with the following blogpost from one of my favorite blogs for Christian young women.

I’ve copied and pasted the following (concerning leaky buckets!) as well as the link to the entire post, should you wish to glean the rest of the post for your weaponry arsenal. :D

This post was an encouragement to me, and I hope that it will encourage you dear ladies as well!!!!! God bless! And God fill our leaky buckets! (Perhaps some of us are missing the bottoms of our buckets entirely!!! :( )

“…The people of Jeremiah's day had stopped looking to God for their satisfaction. I don't know who or what they were hoping would make them feel okay, but it doesn't matter. The result was like pouring water into a leaky bucket. It just didn't work.

You see the answer isn't to be noticed more often, loved by more people, or cherished more deeply. The answer is to know that God has already noticed you. In fact, He studies you. (Matthew 10:30 says He knows the very number of hairs on your head.) He loves you so much He sent His Son to die for you (John 3:16). He cherishes you like a father cherishes His own daughter (Rom. 8:15).
The trick is to let that be enough—to let the truth about who you are to the God of the universe fill your bucket instead of constantly looking to the people in your world to make you feel noticed.
It's not an easy switch to make. Praise from people seems so tangible sometimes compared to the affirmation we find in God's Word, but ultimately it is just like pouring water into a leaky bucket. It never lifts our spirits for long.
How about you? Have you been pouring water into a leaky bucket? Looking to the people around you to make you feel loved and important? I hate to go all Dr. Phil on you, but how is that working for you?
If your bucket's sprung a leak… …God alone is able to fill you up and answer your heart's cry. He's the only one offering "living water" that can take away our thirst for good.
I'd like to ask you to make a choice.

Option #1: Leaky bucket.
Choosing this route means continuing to look to other people to make you feel loved, accepted, and cherished. You should know up front that this route never works for long.

Option #2: Living water.
You make the choice to let God satisfy your craving to be loved. You study what He says about you in His Word, and you choose to believe it even if your feelings tell you otherwise.” (!!!!!)

(Emphasis of any sort was done by me, and the picture is from the original post as well J I encourage you, Dear, dear Princess, if this struck even the slightest chord within your heart, go read the (very short!) rest of this post at the Lies Young Ladies Believe Blog! When the Rubber Meets the Road...

Monday evening, I had a ‘rubber meets the road’ moment.
It was one of those convicting, “ouch” moments.

My mother was planning to go shopping at Sam’s with a friend the following day, and I wanted ssooooo badly to go with her!

But my Dad was going to be gone on-call, so if I did go with Mom and her friend, the kids would be left home alone—with the potential to pull a ‘free-for-all’ (you know the bit, no schooling would get done, there would be lots of noise and chasing each other around the house… :-)) and the would need someone to get them lunch.
In a whiny way and with a ‘poor me’ attitude, I told my mom I would ‘just stay home’.
I could have pushed it, but I could tell that my Dad didn't love the idea, probably as a whole, and mom wasn't keen on leaving the kids by themselves.

It would have been inconvenient if I had gone with my mom, and so I decided to stay… but I was sooo bummed.
I went back to mom and dad’s room to recant telling them “it was fine- I’d stay home”, but I was stopped by overhearing Dad (who didn't know I was there) tell Bethie (my 11 year old sister, who was looking right at me) how ‘it was good for me to be staying home, so mom could go do what she wanted and needed to do (go get food to feed her family!! :-D ) and to not have to worry because I would be there to just step in and take over’—keep things humming smoothly until she returned.
(And, apparently, Bethie informed me later, that he had said something to the effect of how ‘you don’t always get what you want’—which made me mad, but I knew he was right! Which is probably why it hurt so bad lol/;-/ I needed to hear it!)

I had a pity party and invited God—lol.
I told Him I KNEW I was being selfish and asked Him to help me put Him first; others (namely, my family!!!) second, and reserve the few remaining crumbs for myself. I realized that I've been living a very ‘me-centric’ life lately :-( I so often do get my way or get to do what I want that I’d grown spoiled :-(
God helped me realize something.
Here I am, being all “passionate” about, involved in, and say I am and believe in being a Biblical, stay-at-home-and-heart daughter (who *clears throat* loves and ministers to her family…)(and by doing that is preparing for wife-and-mommyhood) but when it really comes down to it—when I encounter the HUGE test to act upon and actually LIVE OUT what my head knows and my heart believes…
Even when it comes to being a good example as the big sister—Bethie was right there watching and hearing the entire thing! (She mouths to me -and in a sweet, respectful way!- “but isn't that kind of selfish?!”… Um yeah. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I was not so hot on the performance end.

When all is said and done, when it comes time to PRACTICALLY LIVE OUT what I believe, do I selflessly submit and practice what I preach?
Do I lay down my desires to defer to another’s (A HUGE, integral part of wife and motherhood, BTW!!!)??
Or do I push, twist, and maneuver circumstances to get my way—what I want—at the inconvenience of others?!
As you can imagine, this was a big light-bulb moment for me. I can romanticize about and expound upon the virtues of being a virtuous daughter, but daydreaming and talking :-) are easy things to do.
Selfless, virtuous living?
Yeah.
That’s TOUGH.
But by the grace of God, it’s not impossible! (Matthew 19:26) (Matthew 10:27) (Luke 1:37) (Luke 18:27) (Philippians 4:13)

What about you, dear daughter? Have you (like me :( ) allowed selfishness to creep in and derail you from what you know and believe to be true?

What about you, dear sister? Have you been a less-than-stellar example lately (like me :( )?
What about you, dear Princess? Have you allowed the enemy and his minions to convince you that holy living is impossible—so why bother?

Please know that I do not condemn you! I’m guilty as well.
But by God’s grace, let’s get back up, learn from this, and keep going forward!

We can talk a good talk—but when the rubber meets the road, can we, can I, walk a good walk?

Encouraging Devotions

In verse 18 of 2nd Samuel chapter 7, David poses the question of “who am I, O Lord GOD? And what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?”

You see, the Lord had just finished lavishing David and his household with manifold blessings, (what we now call the ‘Davidic Covenant’) in 2 Samuel chapter 7 verses 5 though 16. At the end of this huge speech from the LORD, relayed to him through Nathan the prophet, David was absolutely DUMBFOUNDED. The Bible tells us that he (David) “…went…in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? And what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?” He continues in verse 19: “And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? And what can David say more unto thee? For thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.” {Emphasis mine}

As you can tell, David was absolutely blown away and excruciatingly humbled at the promise the Lord had just made to him—and rightly so!

As I read this passage during my devotions last week, this really ‘hit home’ with me. you see, I may not know everything about/ have all the answers for either one of the questions David poses to the Lord in verse 18. But! I do know enough to know that neither David, nor the people of his household and family, were “perfect, little Godly, never-do-anything-wrong people!!!!!

Seriously! I mean, David himself committed adultery with Bathsheba and then ordered the death of her husband; David’s son Absalom committed incest in the sight of all Jerusalem!!!!—With his father’s concubines; David’s son Amnon committed heinous adultery with his own sister; and Michal, David’s (first!) wife (did you catch that? That means David had several wives, which isn’t right either!!!) was super disrespectful to and haughty towards her husband; and I’m sure I could come up with more instances if I put my mind to it. But, for one thing, these examples (surely!) give you the general idea; and for another thing, this are intensely wicked actions!

At this point in David’s story, only one of these things (okay, two, if you count the multiplicity of wives David already had going) has taken place, so David wasn’t aware of them when the Lord made him this incredible promise. Yet! David was still aware of his sinful state before a Holy God and extremely humbled at God’s special blessing upon ‘him and his’.

Funny thing, though, is what David brings to our attention in verse 20—“…for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.”

David wasn’t omniscient. He didn’t even know the horrendous sins he and his family would commit against God in the future that would warrant such feelings of unworthiness.

But God is omniscient. And God did know all this already.
He knew David inside and out, backwards and forwards! He knew all the sins of David’s past, and all the sins of his future! (Including the incident with Bathsheba!) And yet He loved David and held him special to His heart! Even with His infinite knowledge of David’s sin, He made David this promise! And David’s family (who was very much included in the blessing) sinned as well! (Michal, Amnon, Absalom…even Solomon, later in his life!!!) His family more closely resembled Jacob’s soap opera –like family than many may care to admit!!!!! YET!!! God proactively chose to bless David and his family!!!!!

Why?

Because He knew one more thing… that David was a man after His own heart. He knew David wasn’t perfect. But He knew that David strove to please Him in everything. And when David messed up (and he certainly did!!!) he picked himself up, brushed himself off, and by the grace of God, kept pressing on! (Proverbs 24:16) (Philippians 3:14) God was also gracious, and remembered that David was merely a man—made of flesh and blood. (Psalms 103:14)

This was a great source of encouragement to me. I tend to think of God in a very negative way. As my Pastor put it from the pulpit Sunday night, {I} “wait for his wrath” rather than “living in His goodness”. Yes, God is a God of judgment and justice (as Hayley DiMarco puts in it her book A God Girl, God “…isn’t a big teddy bear just waiting passively around for your next hug; {H}e is a powerful and perfect God who won’t tolerate sin in your life. And that knowledge a lot of the time becomes our sole focus. That’s why BALANCE is so important… You have to be willing to agree with God that sin isn’t good for you… and then you have to accept the love that {H}e freely gives when you turn to {H}im.”[1] Our God is also a God of LOVE! (1 John 4:8) So often we (I!) as young ladies miss this, and don’t dwell in the grace and goodness and love of our precious Savior, who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20).

Is this the way you see Him dear sister? Do you dwell in what you just know is His impending or present punishment for some wrong you’ve done? Do you find that you are actually afraid of God, more than you are in love with Him?

O sister! I’ve been there! (Pft! I am there!) And that’s why David’s story was such an encouragement to me!
If God could know the end of David’s life from the beginning (which He did), know all the sinful things that David and his family would ever do (which He did) and yet still promise to secure David’s line as the ruling Jewish line, and promise him also, that His (wonderful, amazing!) mercy should NOT depart away from David’s descendants, even though it had departed from Saul—don’t you think that the Lord loves you deeply, and will “preserve you whithersoever you go” (2 Samuel 8:6&14), even though you sin against Him? Even though you don’t deserve it?

He remembers your frame! He knows that you are frail and fleshly! And for some crazy-wonderful reason,
                                                HE LOVES YOU ANYWAY!!!!!
If you take anything from this post, please, dear sister! Know that Jesus loves you! Think of how he blessed a sinful man like David, when you feel discouraged later on! Remember it, perhaps read it, then press on for Jesus, aiming, like David did, to be a young woman after God’s own heart!!!!!

Devotional Thoughts from Psalms 71:20-21

Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
Psalms 71:20-21

"When I am tempted to remember how close I once was to Jesus~ how much time I used to spend in prayer~ how many hours I’d spend in His Word~ how close We seemed to be~ and feel as though I can never be that close to Him again, remember this verse!
There wasn't a doubt in David’s mind but God would revive his spirit/ heart! ♥ There shouldn’t be a doubt in mine either! Not a single one!"

When YOU dear sister, begin to remember how close you once were to Jesus~ how you’ve allowed that relationship to wane, allowed circumstances to come between you~ when you remember how much time you used to spend pouring your heart out to your Savior~ when you think of how many hours you’d spend in His Word, growing more and more excited at what He was showing you~ when you remember all these things, and begin to become discouraged, believing the LIE that you can never get that relationship with the Lover of your soul back to where it once was, feeling as though you can never be that close to Jesus again, REMEMBER THIS VERSE! Read it, quote it aloud~ over and over! There was not a single doubt in the Psalmists mind or heart that God would once again revive him! (At least not at this time lol) He had seen God do it before!!! (see Psalms 85:5) So take heart! Don’t loose it! J Read, remember, quote, dwell and meditate on this verse, and remember, He who has shown you (or allowed you like Job) to see great and sore trouble WILL QUICKEN YOU AGAIN and WILL BRING YOU UP FROM THE DEPTHS! It is only a matter of time! A matter of time in which He wants you to trust, hope, and rest in Him (Psalm 71:1,5) (Psalm 37:7a)

So, hang in there, Princess Warrior! You are so totally not alone (others are going through the same thing) and you are totally not forsaken (God has not left you nor is He leaving you alone during this “mess”!)!

PLEASE READ THIS POST!!!!

I greatly encourage you to go to the link I've included and read this post by a TRUE princess warrior! I read this post about a week ago and it hurt ... and then made me so mad!  But now mad at her, but angry at the sin and mysticism hiding under the guise of Christianity! PLEASE read this post! It is an 'eye-opener' that is very much worth your time!!!

Confusing "Separation" and Feeling "Spiritually Drained"

There was a young woman who loved the Lord who recently spent some time away from home. She was able to spend time with friends she had not spent time with for a long while, a couple whom she had not even seen for two years! After hearing some of the struggles they were facing, and knowing what it was to face struggles herself, she shared with them some of the magnificent things that her wonderful Savior was teaching her at the time. She also shared with them Biblical teachings and knowledge she had gained in the past, and some of the ways the Lord had blessed and sustained her through past trials. She related with exuberance that the Lord loved those girls and that if they found their worth and fulfillment in Him, they would not need to be searching for it elsewhere, and continually meet with disappointment and pain. Her worldview was strengthened, and although she encountered a bit of culture shock, she had poured encouragement into her friends by the grace of God and the Power of His Spirit.

The Lord blessed her with phenomenal things from His Word during this time, as well, which kept her going—fed her fuel with fire and kept it blazing—gave her a reason to share that hope within her!

But when she returned home, and expected that fire to continue, she was discouraged to find it quite the opposite! :-( In fact, she felt as though the Lord had put up a wall between Himself and she and she was very disheartened. Was there something wrong with her house that hindered her from intimacy with her Lord, even though she did her best to irradiate what might? She hadn’t changed at all since she had come home—in fact, she tried to spend time with the Lord in a more similar way then she had during her vacation, but to no avail. It even came to the point where she subconsciously thought, “What’s the use?” and battled with depression. There was a sudden weight on her heart—

And she didn’t know why
:-(

She wondered if perhaps the Lord had been giving her a taste of His magnificence while she was away, in blessing her time with Him, only to remove those blessings when she arrived back home as if to say, “Here—you know how wonderful fellowship with me can be. Now that you are back home, in your own native environment, where everything is so much harder to practice and live out, how bad do you want it?”

But she knew better. That seemed like something her earthly father would say is against the nature of God. God doesn’t tease or taunt.

But she also remembered, that after His great victory on Mount Caramel, the prophet Elijah also suffered with depression and discouragement. Queen Jezebel threatened to kill him and he ran off into the desert and asked the Lord to take his life, he was in such despair!
Even though he’d just come out of a major spiritual victory, a mountaintop, if you will, he suddenly felt plunged into darkness! :-( It was as though, after this hard and wonderful work, Elijah was spiritually drained.

This young woman also remembered that it was after a forty-day fast in the wilderness—another spiritual victory—that the Lord Jesus Himself was intensely tempted and attacked by the devil.

Perhaps, she reasoned, this is what was happening to her. Or perhaps, yet another plausible explanation, the devil saw the damage she was doing to his kingdom, the joy she was finding in his greatest Enemy, and was all over finding a way to prevent ‘anymore of that’ at all costs!

Is this you today, dear sister?!?!?!?

If it is, please! Do NOT loose heart! Pray that God would bind satan and his demons in the name of Jesus and keep them away from you! Persevere! Get into the Word one more time, and even if it doesn’t feel as if you glean anything, you still spent time with Jesus and tried your best.

“…Nothing ‘jumps’ out. Is it then unprofitable? No, because it does help even if we can not feel it. It is like taking potatoes and holding them under running water. Even though a lot of dirt may not come off, they still are cleansed to a degree. So I should just continue reading. It was cleanse my heart and make it good soil for growing fruit.”
{Taken from The Family Daughter, page 103 Emphasis mine }

I love that illustration and find encouragement from it! :-) Also, get alone with Jesus, and even if you do not feel like putting forth the effort to pray, even if it doesn’t seem worth it, or if you don’t feel as if you have anything to say to Him—talk to Him anyway!! Be brutally honest. He can handle it. (read that once as well LOL- here is the link to where: Lessons Learned in the Valley MOHL

And please, dear sister!
TAKE HEART!!!!!
Omisoul—Jesus totally and completely LOVES YOU!!!

Be ENCOURAGED

by how God handled the situation with Jesus and Elijah. The Bible says that angels ministered unto them! (Mark 1:13) (1 Kings 19:5-8) And before you say, “yeah, well Jesus was perfect! Of course God would send angels to minister unto Him in His moment of need,” remember that while Jesus was sinless—Elijah was not!! :-D (James 5:17-18) I know the context isn’t quite the same, but God is not going to leave you comfortless! (Psalm 23:4) (Isaiah 43:1) (Isaiah 51:12) (Hebrews 2:18)

Remember, you are a Daughter of the King of Kings, and you are enlisted in His army! You are a Princess Warrior! You are of infinite value and worth to Christ and His kingdom! If you are simply trying to live for Him and keep Christ at the center of your life, guess what?! Satan does not like you! If you are on fire for Christ- if you are living for Him—satan is going to do all he can to make sure that fire is stamped out! >=(

So, by the mighty, all-powerful grace of GOD DO NOT LET satan DO THIS!!!!! Persevere! Fight the good fight of faith! The King has adorned you with perfect armor—put it to use in a way that glorifies Him and defeats the enemy! (Ephesians 6:10-18) Pray for the help of the angels!

“Prayer is often a contest between demons who hinder, and angels who minister.” ~~Evangelist/Preacher Tom Harmon

(And I can almost promise you, taking time to seriously just pray will probably eliminate that “separating wall” feeling you have in your heart!♥)
Walk by God’s grace and finally, rest in His comprehension-surpassing peace! (2 Corinthians 1:2) (Philippians 4:6-7)

If you want, I will pray for you!
Press on, dear sisters! I know you may feel as though you are, but take heart, because, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

~~Love Katie

PS. I actually felt the Lord lay this on my heart today. Often when I do a blogpost, it is because God has given me something that thrills and excites me, but today, it was different. I didn’t really desire to write this, but I felt I should. So I began.
And guess what?
I was adding the finishing lines on it, when suddenly, Microsoft Word decided to glitch. A blip popped up on my screen informing me that “Microsoft Word has stopped working”, and before I realized what I’d done, I clicked the only button—“close”—on the blip and lost the entire, basically finished blogpost.
Yep. Can anyone say “confirmation”? :-D :-D :-D
By God’s grace, I immediately reopened the program to find that 3/4th of it was “recovered”, but I still had to rewrite the last few paragraphs.
If you needed this today, if you feel like the young woman in the story, BE ENCOURAGED, sweet sister! God made sure you got this today!!!!! He loves you!

Birdie's & Bekah's Blogpost

This morning I read an inspiring blogpost on another Princess Warrior’s blog. She is a dear friend to me, Royal Soldier for the kingdom on Christ, and a great encouragement to me. I am so grateful that the Lord brought her into my life and blessed me with her friendship. This morning, my sweet sister experienced something amazing—she posted a quit little post about it. And the Lord used that blogpost to encourage and inspire me. Funny thing is, is that just as in the Biblical book of Esther, the name Jesus or God appears not once, yet His mighty hand and gigantic fingerprints were blatantly stamped all over this post, that I wanted to share it with you all.
This is her original post:  Everyday Faith: Window Birdie
"So a few minutes ago I heard a loud thud. Knew a bird hit the window.
Went out to check. Found this tiny finch-like bird on the ground.
When I pressed my hand down in front of him, he hopped onto my hand, clamped onto my finger with his tiny feet, then wouldn't let go. *smiles*
He sat there for about 15 minutes, while I tried to exam him, see if there was any injury I could find... he seemed qui
te content to sit there.
Then when he tried to fly away, he fell to the ground & I could see his one wing was bent at a funny angle.
So I picked him out again & pulled the wing out from his body.... I felt this little "pop" under my finger, & then the wing was straight again.
Few seconds later, he flew away... so I think he will live!
It feels good to help a wee birdie in such a way. *smiles* ♥"

(Both precious pictures credited to Bekah Wall and her blog Everyday Faith!)

First of all, how awesome is that?! To be able to hold a baby birdie in the palm of your hand!!! What a blessing!
But when I read this post, I couldn’t help but think, “His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me!”
I left a comment to this end on Bekah’s post, but THINK ABOUT THIS, dear sister!
If Almighty, all-powerful God, Who created the entire universe and simply breathed out stars that are so big, that if you compared earth to a golf ball then compared that golf ball to the star, it would be the size of Mt. Everest—if that God cares enough about a clumsy little birdie with a penchant for flying into windows, that He has a young woman pop it’s little wing back into place so it can fly again—if He cares that much about a little defenseless bird, how much more does He care about YOU, who are worth MUCH more to Him than MANY sparrows?!?!!?!?!?!?!!??!!?!??!

While talking with my wise father about it, he brought out another interesting point: both that little birdie and also one of our chickens that my little sister Bethie just recently (and literally—it was so adorable!J) nursed back to health, hung around, kept coming back to, and even clung to it’s caretaker for comfort, nourishment, healing, and support while it was still sick. Once it’s wing or it’s eyes were healed, it flew away (to go do work to complete it’s original, created purpose!). The wounded bird clung to its savior for help until it received it!

Oh how much both of these examples can be applied to our lives as set-apart Princess Warriors for Jesus Christ!

If you do anything, dear sister, anything at all in response to this post, let it be that you take comfort and joy in knowing that Almighty God cares so phenomenally much about you! He loves you to pieces!  He wants you to cling to and abide in Him until (and even after! Lol) you receive that healing comfort you so badly need!!!

Remember—Jesus cares so much for even one of the tiniest of His creations to a have a special young woman pop its wing back into place—So take heart, Dear One! You are worth MUCH MORE to Him than many baby birdies!!!!!

“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.” (Matthew 10:29)

“Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:31)

“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?” (Luke 12:6)

“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)

Defeating {our enemy} Death

Today before begining my devotions, I prayed and asked the Lord to show me something new from the passage outlined for today. I've memorized it multiple times (school, awana, school... =D) and because the thought carried so well over today's Scripture with what I read yesterday, I had read it yesterday, as well! The passage is not new to me... aside from memorizing it before, I've heard it preached, I am sure, more than once. So I asked the Lord for something new.
And guess what?
He gave it! (our Lord is wonderful, is He not? How, no matter how small or weak our faith, He daily loads us down with benefits!!! (Psalm 68:19)
I thought I'd share here what He showed me! Nothing big, but from the Lord nonetheless!!!! =D
(which should make it big!!)

I read 1 Corinthians 15:51-58:

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?   The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

After reading verse 54 (" So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."), I was initially confused. Why, when i put on incorruption is the enemy Death defeated? I just got done reading that it is Christ who will receive the honor of "putting Death down", so to speak. (1 Corinthians 15:26, 28) So... why was I reading that when i reach heaven and receive an incorruptible, heavenly body Death would be defeated?? At this point, I totally interrupted God (have a habit of doing that... becoming so confused or inquisitive about a verse that I fret about trying to figure out what it means before actually going to the next verse where it completely explains the entire thing to me! lol) I figured that the reason I defeat Death when I put on an incorruptible body, is becuase I have thus shed my corrupted body, the one he (Death) had a hold of. A corrupted body of sin and death that i inherited by default through Adam('s sin). As death was the result of his and Eve's disobedience, I was defeating it by shedding it for an incorruptible sinless body as i entered heaven.
Then I went back to the Bible and let God finish talking lol =) The second verse following my questions answered them! Verse 56 tells us that "The sting og death is sin: and the strength of sin is the law."
So, why when I exchange rags for Christ's beauty, my earthly body for my heavenly one, my corruption for His incorruption, do I defeat Death??
Because the "sting" of Death is SIN, and this body is riddled with it's loathsome disease! Daily I sin in this body, through this body... with this body!! :( But that simply ceases to be so when one day in Heaven I exchange it for perfection!!!!! In doing so, Death is deafeted!! Whoo! =D
The verse continues with the thought that "...the strength of sin is the law." The Law (10 Commandments, Exodus 20:1-18 ) is the "strength" of sin because it reveals to me, to you, to us--everyone!!-- just how sick with this dreaded disease we really are!!
"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ" (verse 57)
He not only died for our sins, in our place, but He ROSE AGAIN!!! This makes us victorious in the battles we as His princess warrior's fight everyday! We will defeat Death one day, and we can defeat sin every day because our Jesus came out of that tomb!!! Halellujah!!!
"Therefore, {meaning because He did resurrect and because He is coming again} my beloved {sisters in this battle}, be ye
STEADFAST
UMOVEABLE
ALWAYS ABOUNDING in the WORK of the LORD!!!"
Why?
becuase you, me, we know {not guess or hope-- we KNOW!}that
our labor is NOT IN VAIN
IN THE LORD!!!!"

Be careful... For NOTHING!?!?!?!?!

Many of you are familiar with the following verse; most, if not all of you know it by heart, or could quote it almost word for word, either because sometime in the past you purposely memorized it, or because you learned it from hearing it quoted so much from the pulpit, youth leaders, devotional booklets and whatnot. But I'd like to challenge you all to look at Philippians 4:6-7 in a new light this morning! It says,

"Be careful for nothing; but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let you requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (emphasis mine =D)

The word careful can be read (translated) as "anxious". So, through this verse, God is telling us to be anxious for absolutely nothing! Instead, when we are tempted to or begin to be worried, troubled, anxious, or scared, He wants us to turn to Him, tell Him our problems and ask His complete aid.
What struck me this morning, and what I hope you will carry with you today, is that what this verse tells us to do, to "be careful for nothing" and to "let our requests be made known into God", is NOT a suggestion. It is NOT an option. No! It is a COMMAND!!! It is an ORDER!!! It doesn't say, "Be careful for just a teeny-tiny bit, and leave the REST up to God." It doesn't say to "be anxious for nothing except for a specific, special issue, and obsess over that one all you want." NO! Warrior of the King, it commands us to "be careful for NOTHING!" and to in EVERY circumstance let your requests be made known into God with prayer and thanksgiving".

But the sweetest part of this verse is the PROMISE our God gives us! A promise of help and blessing comes with the command to obey! For God tells us through verse 7 that IF we are anxious for nothing and cast all our care upon and bring all our requests to HIM, that "the PEACE OF GOD, which passeth all understanding SHALL" (means it WILL; not "it might"! But it WILL) keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." !!!
The command to be anxious for nothing comes with the GUARANTEE that if we do, Jesus will keep our hearts! Keep them still. Keep them calm. Keep you resting in Him and in His perfect timing. Keep as in 'protect' and 'gaurd' from enemy intrusion. According to 'Family Bible Notes', the word originally denotes "as a military watch"!! (I didn't even know that as I wrote the first part of this post!!) See how GOOD our GOD is?!?!?! As an enlisted daughter of the King of kings, you have no need of fear as you go forth daily to fight the enemy, for your Mighty Commander keeps a militaristic watch and guard over you!!! You are PRECIOUS to Him, dear one!! He loves you, and wants to help you and calm your every fear and supply your every need! He WANTS to show Himself mighty in your apparent weakness!!! But He cannot do it if you don't bring these troubles and fears and desires and needs to Him!!! (Not to say that God is limited in what He can and cannot do because of anything we do or don't do. That's not what I'm saying =D) What I AM saying though is that you CAN have peace, peace that cannot be explained or fathomed, through Jesus Christ!

Are you weary today, dear sister? Are you struggling with fears, anxiety, possibly depression and/ or discouragement? Or are you or your family in sincere need of something? Do you long and desire to have a Godly romance with an earthly prince? I encourage you today to heed the command of the Master, and to be careful for nothing. Come boldly before the throne of Grace in prayer. Thank and praise the Lord for the things, the blessings you DO have and then spill out your heartache, your fears, your anxiety, your desires to the King who cares! Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you!! For He PROMISES hat His peace shall keep your hear and mind safe from the enemy, through Jesus Christ!!

I hope and pray that you have a peaceful and wonderful day, dear sisters! Cast your burden on the Lord, for He is strong enough to carry any load!!!!!

Searching Out the Matter

Dear sister warriors in Christ,
This morning during my devotions the Lord spoke to me in a specific and special way about something I had been praying about last night, and I felt that He also prompted me to share this battle plan with you all!

In (Proverbs 25:2) we read, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”

In my Student’s Dictionary, “glory” is defined as “praise given to (S)omeone who has accomplished something extraordinary”. So it is to God’s glory for Him to “conceal a thing”; or according to (Romans 11:33,34-36) and (Isaiah 55:8-9), our God’s wisdom and knowledge, His judgments and His ways, His mind—they are all past our human, earthly and mortal understanding! They are too deep, too rich, for us to be able to swallow or comprehend! Indeed, even though we may study all of our lives on simply one of His many attributes (such as of His love or grace), indeed, when we get right down to it, in reality, we have only begun to truly scratch the surface in understanding all that He is!! His thoughts and ways are higher than ours! Yet, according to verse 2 of Proverbs 25, this is for His glory!!! BUT! The verse does not end there! J Yes, it is to the glory of our Savior that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts; but it the “…honour of kings is to search out a matter.” Now, I realize that it is speaking of kings or rulers specifically in this verse, but let us apply this to our lives as Daughters of the King, who are also enlisted in His Service! In (Job 29:16b) Job indicates, “… the cause which I knew not I searched out.” When there was a question or a doubt or perhaps a little confusion about something or concerning a certain topic in Job’s life, he made it his mission to “search that matter out”, or to learn all he could about this, and what God had to say about it, so as to clear away his confusion, doubts, and questions about it. it is like my little sister who is (at least last I knew lol) planning on starting school for this year today. She isn’t going to be able on her first day of school to take her Algebra 1 test right away—in order for her to understand it and to clear away all confusion and questions she may have so that in the future she can act with firm resolve and confidence, she must first learn the material! She must apply herself and study all she can about equations, exponents, graphs, algebraic formulas, positive and negative numbers, factoring, fractions, and ratios… before she can put them to work and be able to solve them!

And so it is with us in our Christian walk and the daily battles with the enemy that arise!! Sure, the knowledge of our Lord is deep… yet it is an honor for us to search out the things that we may be unsure of! It is a thing “to {be held} in high respect” (a Student’s Dictionary) for us to daily dig into the Love Letter, the Battle Plans, that our Lord has written for us, to learn more about Him, and to discover His thoughts, wisdom, commands, and statements in regard to specific concerns, doubts, and questions we may have! God wants us to delve into His Word when we are confused about something, and to see what He says about it, and to base our convictions and standards according to His very own!!

God used this specific Passage to speak to me this morning because lately there have been a few topics broached or that I’ve read about or been dealing with, that quite frankly, I don’t know where I stand on them. I’ve even thought several times during the last week, “You know, I really ought to study that out in the Bible and see what God says about it…” I realize that I should do this, instead of just floundering around and having no idea where I stand... “…For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed…A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.(James 1:6b & 8) (Also see Romans 14:22-23). Last night I was feeling very unsettled concerning a couple of these subjects so I talked to God about them, and then this morning, low and behold, He gave me these verses. It was as though He was telling me that, sure, I didn’t know where I stood Biblically on these subjects, but He wanted me to search His Word to find out where He wanted/wants me to! I intend to search either all or most of the places in the Bible where the “causes I know not” are mentioned, and study them out, in an effort to seek the mind of Christ concerning them and where He would have me stand.

What about YOU, dear sister in Christ?? ©©©© Are there any “causes that YOU know not”? Are there any doubts, concerns, questions in your mind concerning a certain topic, worldview, or doctrine? Have you been struggling with knowing where you stand on something lately? Maybe someone has recently asked your opinion on something and you realized that you didn’t have one! J If the answer is yes, I sincerely encourage you to take to heart the message of Proverbs 25:2 and to “search out that matter”!!! Study God’s Word concerning the topic, worldview, or doctrine in question and find out for yourself what God has to say about it! This will enable you to, with joy, and determined confidence in your obedience to Christ, form Godly standards, opinions, and act on them without doubt! Remember, it is an honor to search out the Scriptures! Also, in doing this, we gain experience and much needed skill in using our offensive weapon against the enemy—the SWORD of the SPIRIT—the WORD of GOD!! (Ephesians 6:17). The better you know your weapon, and how it works, the better you can fight with it!

Remember…

“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”  (Proverbs 25:2)

Will you join me, dear sisters?
