More Precious Gems...

(Psalms 9:1-2,4, 7a, 9, 10-11, 12b-14)
I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.

But the LORD shall endure for ever:

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.  And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

He forgetteth not the cry of the humble.  Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

(Pslams 39:1, 2, 7-13)
I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

Psalms 39:2  I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

Psalms 39:7-13  And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it. Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.  When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.  Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

(Psalms 69:1-3, 5, 13-20, 29-32)
Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.  I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies. And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.  Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies. Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee. Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

Psalms 28:7-8
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Psalms 50:13-15
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Psalms 34:2
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

Jeremiah 9:24
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Thank You LORD!!!

  1. Hi Katie!

Thanks for sharing these verses! I enjoyed reading through them. The last one (Jeremiah 9:24) is a favorite of mine, and one that the Lord has really used in my in regard to a particular struggle that I have had.

Thank you, also, for the e-mail you sent me. I'm really sorry that I have not written you back yet! I will try to do that soon, Lord willing...been busy recently! But I'll share more when I write you...

I hope that you are doing well, Katie!

Oh, and by the way, I got a second blog :) Feel free to stop by sometime; the address is www.proverbs-31-ten.blogspot.com

    Love you!

  4. Hi Katie,

Thanks for posting these sections from the Psalms and Jeremiah. My family and I just read Psalm 33 this morning, and it also talked about singing unto the Lord a new song, with stringed instruments, and rejoice and shout for joy!
I am glad to see that you post mostly from the Bible. I hope you will continue on this path...because it is tempting for many people to use the blog as a place where they talk about literature, philosphy etc. and hardly anything about the Word of God. There are too few girls who talk on Scripture on their blog.

Yes, I'm sorry I haven't replied to your last email. ...This week I am really busy because my family and I are attending the Shepherd's Conference at Grace Community Church (you can find me talking about it on my blog). And on top of that I have to continue my regular school workload which usually kept me tied to my desk most of the day. :) So it might be a bit challenging. We are actually right now at the Conference. Hopefully my sisters and I will post some pictures of it soon!

Anyway, I hope to write sometime soon. I hope you don't mind that I'll be late. I enjoy getting your emails and seeing that we have in common so many things!

    In Christ,
    Becky

  7. (Referring to your lovely comment on my blog:)
Oh my, having no Internet at home must make things quite difficult, concerning your blog and corrosponding with blogging friends. I hope you get all that worked out. Don't worry if you ever get tied up and it takes you a while to reply to my long comments. ^_^ I completely understand! :)

I still have my babysitting job, but God [just yesterday] has juggled things up a bit. ;) Yesterday (before I went to work) my boss called me and said that their house caught on fire (they had a fire going in the firepalce). It just burnt up half of the roof above the living room and the chimney area, but they have major water damage from when the firemen put out the flames. I am not sure what my boss and his wife are going to do. They have had their house on the market for a while now and were trying to sell it and move back up to New York, but with the damage they received yesterday, the process will only be delayed even more. :/ So right now I don't know if I have a job anymore or not. They might have to live with the wife/mom's parents because of the water damage. I'm not sure. I just continue to pray about that, and that eveything will work out! Thank you for praying about my job!! Other than yesterday's happenings, my job had been going very well. God didn't change the situation, He just changed my heart and attitude, and it made all the difference. :):):)

Well, dad isn't doing so great this morning. He's very fatigued (tired) and he's just been sleeping and sleeping. His next treatment is either this coming Tuesday, or the one after that. I'm not completely sure about that, but I think I remember my mom saying he has a treatment coming up. Hopefully his treatment will be this Tuesday, not the next, because he needs some gumption. ;) Thank you so much for praying for my dad and his Tysabri treatments!! Prayer is powerful and it's the best tool we have! :)

A while back I had kinda let my Bible reading and my prayer slip further down on my "list of things to do". (I'm sure God chuckles everytime He sees my list. ^_^) It was because I just didn't "feel" like doing it. But one thing that has helped me is my Pastor always tells me, "When you don't feel like reading your Bible, do it anyway. When you don't feel like praying, do it anyway. You never know what God might reveal to you." :) And I'm just like you: a slow learner. ;) God has been teaching me about loving others, as well! Several times He has brought up LOVE when I read scipture, and even in the movies I had seen lately (for example, a new Christian film called The Grace Card which was amazing!!). Even the conversations I have with my friends lead into loving one another as Christ loved us. :)

I don't know if I told you, but I am going to prom with one of my guy-friends this weekend. (I am homeschooled, but he isn't.) He is a very strong Christian and very well grounded, I've never met a young man who loves the Lord as much as he does (except for his older brother, who is actually the one courting my older sister:). I'm very excited, but very nervous at the same time for several reasons. [If you read this comment before Saturday] I would greatly appreciate prayers concerning that! :)

I will definitely keep you in my prayers, Katie! It is my joy and my delight to pray for my sister in Christ. :)

Oh my, another long comment. ^_^ It might take you a while to read this on your dad's cell phone. lol :D

Thank you for listening to me and praying for me, Katie!! It is so nice to have fellow sisters in Christ to share things with! Every one of your comments bless me tremendously, so anytime you need to talk to someone, or you just feel like rambling, don't hesitate to drop a comment on my blog!! ;D

With LOVE from your sister in Christ,
    Eldarwen

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
